S.I.L.C. stands by the Fondazione Francesca Rava against healthcare poverty

Last November 20 we had the opportunity to participate as a partner in “At the pharmacy for children 2017”, the annual event organized by Fondazione Francesca Rava to bring concrete aid to children and their families living in healthcare poverty in Italy.

We are tied to Fondazione Francesca Rava N.P.H. Italia ONLUS (a non-profit organization) through a long-lasting friendship, which is to be seen in cooperation and support for many of the solidarity projects which the foundation launches.

This year we wanted to go one step further and invite S.I.L.C. employees who were able to make themselves available to participate in first person in the collection day, as volunteers at participating pharmacies in the region.

Our sales director, Antonio Ogliari, was part of the team who took on the role of volunteer for a day; even before that he had already made a special effort to involve as many clients as possible, inviting them to participate in this important solidarity event.

Being a team and working concretely are distinctive elements of this operation, but they are also a fundamental part of S.I.L.C.’s vision. This is why for us, supporting this social responsibility action was pretty much automatic. We are proud to have participated in such an important moment.

“At the pharmacy for children 2017” achieved absolutely positive results: the 2,200 volunteers involved at a national level collected more than 186,000 packages of medicines, medical devices and personal hygiene products donated by clients of the 1,441 participating pharmacies, with an increase of 14% compared to 2016.

Thanks to this generosity, Fondazione Francesca Rava ONLUS was able to increase the number of benefitting institutions as well, bringing the number up to 385, compared to 285 in 2016.

“At the pharmacy for children 2017” represented an opportunity to do good, but also to contribute to educating people regarding a topic — that of healthcare poverty — which is still little-known in our country, despite the consequences it can have on everyone’s health.

On the Facebook page for our Trudi Baby Care brand we have shared a gallery of photos to thank all those who, by contributing their own time, contributed to a gift of love for many, many children.
